Tideman HDPE boats were not the first Tideman Boats. Family tradition runs deep. The fascination with boats began with Bruno Joannes Tideman (1834 – 1883), a Dutch shipbuilder who founded modern shipbuilding in The Netherlands. His innovative ideas earned him a Royal decoration. This Bruno’s life work would inspire many more Brunos to follow in the workboat and shipbuilding industry.

In 2006, Bruno Tideman started the company by designing and building the perfect fast and durable workboat for rough environments. Seven years later, he introduced virtually indestructible HDPE boats – the Tideman Rigid Buoyancy Boat (RBB), featuring a 100% HDPE hull design. The Tideman HDPE RBB has a service life much longer than competing boats, has a low carbon footprint, requires no bottom paint or gel coat, is 100% recyclable, and is virtually indestructible.
Since formally beginning production and delivery of HDPE boats in 2013, European organizations such as Damen, BP, Boskalis, and Astaldi have been utilizing Tideman Boats for their clients and marine operations.
Until recently, Tideman Boats have not been available in the US. In February of 2022, Tideman Boats US opened its doors. Tideman Boats US formed partnerships with US boat manufacturers, offering Tideman standard hulls to these partners to outfit. Before long, we realized we could provide more than HDPE hulls to the marine industry and formed Tideman Marine. We continue to offer boat manufacturers our Tideman standard hulls. Whether you need an open center console layout, a cabin boat, or an electric, diesel outboard or inboard water jet propulsion, these manufacturers will provide you with a solid Tideman Boat built with an HDPE Tideman standard hull. Tideman Marine products are manufactured in the USA in a thermoplastic welding fabrication facility that has been designing, manufacturing, and providing high-impact solutions for many industries, including fire, marine, and aquaculture, since 1986. The two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities have the latest cutting, routing, welding, and testing equipment.
